Because this is the first year your student has participated in state testing, it would be good if you could have them at least review the practice tests that we have worked on together in class. (It will help to alleviate their anxiety, which most of them are experiencing to some degree). I'll outline the steps to access the practice tests below:
Go to ​http://www.caaspp.org/ and click on "Practice and Training Tests"
Next click on Student Interface Practice and Training Test
Smarter Balanced Practice Test
Click below to complete a survey telling me your thoughts about homework. The survey is anonymous so feel free to be kind but honest.
After that, you'll see a screen that says, "Please Sign In". Don't follow the directions on the screen. Just click the "Sign In" button (leave all of the boxes that say "Guest" alone).
On the next screen that says, "Is This You?", choose your child's grade level, and on the following screen that says "Your Tests", choose whichever test you would like to have your child review. There are about 30 questions on the Practice Tests, and anywhere from 4-8 on the Performance Tasks.
